With the imminent commencement of the Fall Term, a series of exciting arts and culture activities await the HKUST community! From September 25 onwards, there will be a series of musical and cultural events under the banner “Cosmopolis Festival”, featuring the HK Philharmonic Orchestra, renowned harpsichord master Mahan Esfani, Chinese Windpipe Music Ensemble, and other violin and piano concerts. The regular Movie Night@ Shaw series will continue with the addition of the Diversity = Strength Film Festival in October, while student activities such as Career Mosaic and Congregation will also be held at the multi-purpose venue.
Since reopening in April, Shaw Auditorium has hosted two film screenings and a solo piano recital by pianist Aristo Sham. It also held many university-wide events involving students, staff, alumni and external partners. Take a look at what we have planned for the summer.
We are pleased to announce that the Shaw Auditorium has resumed normal operation. Come and join our events including exhibitions, music programs and film screenings.
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) celebrated today the opening of Shaw Auditorium - a brand new hall with state-of-the-art facilities supported by a HK$150 million donation from the Shaw Foundation Hong Kong (SFHK). This new landmark is set to turn HKUST into an arts and culture hub, offer a new place of learning and gathering for the community and further humanistic and creativity development of the University and its surrounding environment.
Set to open shortly, our eagerly-awaited Shaw Auditorium will add exciting new dimensions to HKUST’s commitment to feeding the heart and nourishing the soul of its community members. It will also measurably accelerate the development of more boundary-pushing arts and cultural initiatives.
